So with the “sniffle season” upon us, for many of us life doesn’t stop just because it’s cold outside! And with 3 busy boys who refuse to wear jumpers and play in the rain, I am so thankful to have my oils at hands reach. I use many of the the products from the seasonal threats kits which are designed to help keep you going, even on the days you’d rather be curled up next to a roaring fire.. oh wouldn’t that be nice!

I wanted to share with you a little more about how I use my essential oils and some of ways in which I use them in my home to care for myself and my children.

I use the ON GUARD HAND CONCENTRATE and FOAMING PUMP (from the home kit) as it such a great way to help save the earth’s resources, your money and using low toxic products is important to me. We know handwashing is such an important health precaution and placing a dispenser at every sink around the home provides those in your home with the On Guard protection  throughout the day. ( It’s an incredible blend of cinnamon, wild orange, clove, rosemary and eucalyptus) Using the concentrate I fill it up to the yellow Cross and then top it up with water. This way I get about 5 or 6 bottles out of one concentrate bottle which is great as the boys can be often heavy handed with it. And when guests are coming it is often used to  squirted around the basin and toilet bowl for a quick clean… I mean boys are dirty!

I use the ON GUARD PROTECTIVE BLEND BEADLETS (From the personal kit) most days in our home as a part of our daily wellness plan. For me these are like giving the body what it needs from the inside out. It is an easy and convenient way to obtain the benefits of On Guard for systematic support. They are a quarter of a drop so my boys take 1 per day and I take 2 in the am and 2 in the pm. Its a blend of wild orange, clove, cinnamon, eucalyptus and rosemary. There have been times when I have had a bit of a sore and scratchy throat so I have popped the beadlet in my mouth for local oral support. They are seriously a winner and they work! Alternatively If I have left the house without my hand sanitizer (which I have like 5 on the go at all times and use these frequently in-between activities and public places like parks and toilets) I have simply popped one of the beadlets in my hands for a quick hit.

I have been using the STONGER PROTECTIVE BLEND (from the kids kit) a bit more these days for a couple of reasons. Personally I LOVE the smell and know it has been perfectly created in a way to keep school-aged children movin’ and groovin’ right through the colder months. It’s a blend of Cedarwood, Frankincense, Litsea and Rose. It smell delicious! With the powerful benefits of wood and floral oils, the bright and uplifting aroma of doTERRA Stronger Protective Blend is refreshing to the senses and is an ideal blend when you are not feeling your best and looking for daily resilience. And to get more bang for your buck, you could also use this blend on any little cuts or scapes while being out and about as it the oils in the blend also are known for their properties to support the skin and cleanse. (Then once I am home we often follow up with a DIY Owie blend of Lavender, Tea Tree and Frankincense

I use the EASY AIR VAPOUR stick (Think Vicks Rub) particularly when we are out and about and the boys get a bit wheezy. This is usually after playing on the tramp after dark or after soccer training as it helps to promote clear and open airways. I find it just so easy to rub just so great to have on hand in my little “mum kit”. Just a month or so a go we went to a little cottage along the Condamine River just as the season was changing. It was very cool and windy. I got my “sneezy weezies” so I added a very small amount of the rub to some hot water and supported my sinus’ old school with a towel over my head. I am so pleased I came good and we were able to continue our little adventure playing with the local cows and exploring the area. If you are open to DIY here is a recipe you can make your own
